Sea Eagles sensation Taniela Paseka has dodged a bullet, with the news that the towering prop will be fit to take the field in the club's season opener after escaping serious shoulder damage.

Fans were on edge fearing that Manly's man mountain might be sidelined for their clash against the Cowboys on March 8, but the club has delivered a slam dunk announcement that Paseka is good to go for round 1.

In a statement dripping with sporting analogies, the club confirmed, "Taniela Paseka will be raring to go for round 1 in the NRL premiership after a minor knock in the Pre-season Challenge match against the Rabbitohs last Saturday."

"The Sea Eagles prop was seen hobbling off the field nursing his left shoulder, but after some rigorous examination, it turns out he's only suffered a grade one AC joint injury."

"Unfortunately, Paseka won't be lacing up his boots for Friday's trial against the Panthers, but you can bet your bottom dollar he'll be revved up and ready to go for the team's showdown against the Cowboys."

With Paseka's availability locked in, the Sea Eagles can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their star forward will be leading the charge in their season kick-off.
