In a dominant performance, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles defeated the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs with a resounding scoreline of 42-24 at Accor Stadium.

The Sea Eagles, who had suffered three consecutive losses to the Sydney Roosters, Panthers, and Warriors in recent weeks, were determined to bounce back after their finals hopes were shattered last week.

The Sea Eagles showcased their attacking prowess by crossing the try line seven times, compared to the Bulldogs' four.

This victory marked their first win at Homebush since 2020 and only the second time since 2013.

Jason Saab stood out for the Sea Eagles, scoring two tries.

Toafofoa Sipley, Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega, Haumole Olakau'atu, Daly Cherry-Evans, and Lachlan Croker also contributed with a try each.

Cherry-Evans, the influential halfback, had a stellar performance, notching a try, six conversions, eight tackle breaks, and a try assist.

He even showcased his skill and agility by scoring a remarkable try from the halfway line, reminiscent of his earlier years.

A noteworthy moment in the match was the NRL debut of Gordon Chan Kum Tong, a 21-year-old hooker who has been with the Sea Eagles since the age of 15.

He entered the field in the 30th minute as Sea Eagle #649, played for 32 minutes, and made a significant impact by converting a penalty goal in the 76th minute, courtesy of a kind gesture from DCE.

The Bulldogs managed to score first, with Corey Waddell crossing the try line after just four minutes.

Winger Blake Wilson set up the try with a draw-and-pass, and five-eighth Matt Burton converted, giving the Bulldogs an early 6-0 lead.

However, their momentum was short-lived as the Sea Eagles quickly took control of the game.

Overall, the Sea Eagles' dominant performance and comprehensive win against the Bulldogs provided a much-needed boost to their confidence and allowed them to return to the winners' list after a series of disappointing losses.
