Dean Matterson has signed a new two-year deal with the Sea Eagles, according to reports on their official website, seaeagles.com.au.

The 25-year-old had an impressive season, shining for both Manly and the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles in the NSW Cup.

His hard work paid off when he made his NRL debut in round 20 against the North Queensland Cowboys at 4 Pines Park.

Matterson was recognized for his outstanding performance, winning Manly's Ken Arthurson Rising Star award for Rookie of the Year, as well as the Bob Batty Best and Fairest award for being Blacktown's best player in the NSW Cup.

One of Matterson's strengths is his versatility, as he is able to cover multiple positions including centre, five-eighth, lock, and second-row.

Sea Eagles Coach Anthony Seibold expressed his belief that Matterson deserved his new contract, which will keep him at Manly until the end of 2025.

This deal demonstrates the value the club places on Matterson's abilities and his potential contribution to both the NRL and NSW Cup teams.
