In the 11th minute, the Dragons nearly equalized, but a determined Manly defense prevented winger Christian Tuipulotu from scoring after a clever kick by Luciano Leilua.
Manly extended their lead to 10-0 in the 16th minute, benefiting from a brilliant 40-20 kick by Fogarty, followed by a deft run from Tom Trbojevic, who sidestepped Kyle Flanagan.
Just two minutes later, they scored again after the kick restart, with Jason Saab's catch setting up Garrick for an impressive 80-meter sprint down the sideline.
The Dragons had a try disallowed for obstruction in the 22nd minute but eventually broke through for their first try soon after.
During the match, Manly's lock Jake Trbojevic left the field due to a cut below his eye and did not return, despite passing his HIA, observing from the bench.
