Manly Sea Eagles utility Aaron Schoupp faced a significant ACL injury that abruptly ended his 2025 season, raising concerns as he was negotiating a contract extension.

With no deal secured for the 2026 season, Schoupp confronted a challenging recovery period while lacking a team to play for.

However, the Sea Eagles fulfilled their commitment by extending Schoupp's contract for the upcoming season.

"Rehab is going good," the 24-year-old stated.

"Just did my first run in the last week of pre-season [before the Christmas break]."

He shared that his progress is ahead of schedule, allowing fans to anticipate his return to the field in the early part of the season. Schoupp indicated, "We're aiming for a return somewhere around Round 7, but not rushing it and letting [the ACL] fully heal before I come back."
