The Blacktown Workers suffered a crushing 34-12 defeat to the Roosters in the NSW Cup, with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles putting up a brave fight but ultimately falling short.
The Roosters, boasting a lineup of NRL-experienced players, proved too strong for the Workers, taking a commanding 16-0 lead at halftime and finishing with six tries to the Workers' two.
Despite the loss, the Workers have shown promise with one win and one loss in the first two rounds, following a hard-fought 24-20 victory over the Rabbitohs last week.
The Roosters' halfback Hugo Savala made an early impact, scoring the opening try in the first minute after a series of errors from both teams.
Savala converted his own try to give the Roosters an early lead.
The Workers had their chances, with Cameron Brown almost leveling the scores on the left edge, but a handling error cost them possession.
Savala extended the Roosters' lead with a second try in the 12th minute, courtesy of a slick passing play on the left sideline involving Alex Young and Michael Jennings.
Overall, it was a tough loss for the Workers, but they will regroup and come back stronger in the next round.
The Roosters were just too good on the day, showcasing their skill and experience in the NSW Cup clash.
