Match Preview: Round 17 vs Tigers

The Warringah Sea Eagles will host the Wests Tigers in Round 17 of the Telstra NRL Premiership at 4 Pines Park on Friday night.

Following their recent bye, the Sea Eagles are eager to return to winning ways at home.

The Tigers aim to snap a five-game losing streak and face Manly for the first of two encounters this season.

Despite narrowly missing out in their last three matches-losing by four points to the Raiders, Panthers, and Cowboys-the Tigers have a challenging task ahead.

In previous matchups, the Sea Eagles have fared well.

They suffered a close 34-26 defeat to the Tigers during their sole meeting last season at Leichhardt.

However, Manly has a strong record against Wests, winning six of their last seven games against them.

Notably, the Tigers experienced a significant loss during their last visit to 4 Pines Park, where they were defeated 54-12 by the Sea Eagles in Round 27, 2023.

In team news, Manly will be without edge forward Haumole Olakau'atu due to a shoulder injury for the first time this season.

Tom Trbojevic is expected to move to the centres, with Lehi Hopoate returning at fullback and Reuben Garrick shifting to the wing.
