Manly Warringah Sea Eagles faced a 20-4 defeat against the Sydney Roosters at a rain-soaked 4 Pines Park during Round 22 of the Telstra NRL Premiership.

The Roosters led 12-4 at halftime, capitalizing on limited attacking opportunities within Manly's territory, with both first-half tries scored by halfback Sam Walker.

Manly had an early chance to score when Reuben Garrick crossed the try line in the 30th minute, but the final pass was deemed forward.

Fullback Lehi Hopoate was assessed for a head injury after colliding with Roosters' James Tedesco while contesting a kick. He was cleared and returned while the Sea Eagles were ahead 4-0.

The Sea Eagles opened the scoring in the sixteenth minute when Tolu Koula charged over on the left edge.

Manly had a few more chances to score on that side but could not convert. Garrick appeared poised for another try before being halted by the Roosters' defense and losing possession just short of the line.

Ben Trbojevic was also taken for a head injury assessment following a head clash but failed the test and did not return to the match.
