Sea Eagles Eye Season Turnaround Despite Losses

‘We won’t panic’: Seibold defiant despite ‘well below par’ Sea Eagles’ horror loss to spooners

Anthony Seibold remains optimistic about the Manly Sea Eagles' prospects for the remainder of the 2026 season, even after experiencing back-to-back losses.

Last week, they came close to defeating the previous season's minor premiers by just a point, but Sunday's match against the Newcastle Knights presented a stark contrast.

Despite the absence of stars Dylan Brown and Kalyn Ponga due to injury, the Sea Eagles managed to score only one try and struggled offensively.

"There's not a lot of small wins today, I've got to say. We were well beaten and we were well below par," Seibold stated following the game.

He expressed disappointment, noting, "We were well beaten, well below par so we're disappointed with that because I thought we were really good for periods last week."

Seibold's resolve remains strong, and he believes that with determination, the Sea Eagles could still mount a challenge for a top-four finish.
