Daly Cherry-Evans faces a monumental decision as he reaches a significant milestone for the Manly Sea Eagles.

The halfback is set to surpass the legendary Cliffy Lyons' record of 309 games for the club when he leads the team against the Panthers at 4 Pines Park on Saturday night.

With his sights set on becoming only the second player in NRL history to reach 400 games, Cherry-Evans has not set a strict deadline on his decision to play on.

The Sea Eagles captain, with one more year left on his current contract, could potentially reach around 360 NRL appearances by the end of 2025, edging closer to the magical 400-game mark.

Having already received endorsements from NRL greats like Cliffy Lyons and Matty Johns, who believe Cherry-Evans has what it takes to challenge Cameron Smith's record of 400 games, the talented No.7 is in prime form.

Johns even boldly stated, "I reckon he will go past 400.

He is playing better than ever.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't push 450.

I see another two or three years in him."

While the goal of reaching 400 games is within reach for Cherry-Evans, the challenge of surpassing Smith's record will require him to potentially play beyond his current contract.

Nevertheless, the Sea Eagles stalwart remains focused on the task ahead as he reflects on his NRL future.
