Jackson Hastings spent nearly a year away from the NRL, wrestling with a multitude of thoughts.

However, the arrival of his youngest fan, his daughter Scottie, two months ago, has provided him with a renewed perspective on life.

Hastings made his long-awaited return to the NRL in a match against the Roosters at McDonald Jones Stadium, where he played five-eighth alongside halfback Jack Cogger.

This game not only marked the end of a 329-day absence from the field but also was his first opportunity to play in front of his daughter, who was born on April 13.
