Craig Sandercock's rebuild of the Wests Tigers was a meticulous process without any easy routes.
The tone was established from the outset by captain Kezie Apps.
"Kezzie Apps organised to meet me for a coffee when I signed on as coach. She said whatever you want to do or change, I'll support you. I just want to win.
"I walked away from that meeting going, that's my captain."
From the very beginning, reputation held little weight.
Regardless of whether a player was seasoned or new, Sandercock sought a shared commitment to effort, learning, and growth.
This strategy has led the Tigers to their first-ever NRLW finals appearance.
After another year missing out in 2025, the Tigers were resolute about starting fresh this season.
