Sam Kasiano, the former Warrington Wolves player, has made a surprising return to New South Wales, signing with the Dapto Canaries in the Illawarra Cup for the upcoming 2024 season.

The 33-year-old prop will join forces with NRL veterans Joseph Leilua, Pita Godinet, and Aaron Gray, adding experience and depth to the Canaries' lineup.

Kasiano, a former New Zealand and Samoa representative, left the NRL in 2018 after a distinguished career spanning 153 games and eight seasons with the Canterbury Bulldogs and Melbourne Storm.

Known for his brute force and aggressive playing style, he was crowned the Dally M Prop of the Year in 2012, leaving a lasting mark on Australian rugby league.

With his return to New South Wales, Kasiano aims to revitalize his career and contribute to the Canaries' pursuit of glory in the upcoming season.
