Salford Red Devils have announced that their Betfred Super League match against Leigh Leopards at Leigh Sports Village will take place this Friday as scheduled.

This confirmation comes after the club had to cancel a previous match against Wakefield on Sunday due to player welfare concerns, as they were unable to field a team.

The Rugby Football League is set to announce Salford's sanction for not completing that fixture, which is likely to result in a standard 48-0 defeat for the club. Salford has been dealing with significant cash-flow issues following a takeover at the beginning of the season.

Despite these challenges, the club has expressed confidence in returning to action against Leigh. In a recent statement, Salford said, "We can confirm this Friday's Betfred Super League Round 23 clash between Leigh Leopards and Salford Red Devils will go ahead as scheduled." They added, "With first-grade players back from injury this week, and others with Super League experience set to join on loan, this Friday's fixture will proceed as planned."
