Salford Red Devils have confirmed the exits of Ryan Brierley and Jack Ormondroyd as the club grapples with a deepening financial crisis.
According to reports from skysports.com, the struggling Super League team has been compelled to sell club captain Brierley along with prop Ormondroyd to generate funds for creditor payments.
Following the departures of Chris Hill and Chris Hankinson after a significant 74-12 loss to Hull KR on July 31, Brierley and Ormondroyd mark the 12th and 13th players to leave Salford this season.
"I really hope everything gets sorted out at this great club, and they get back where they belong, up at the top of the Super League," Ormondroyd stated.
Salford managed to pay their players last Wednesday, just before their disappointing defeat to Hull KR. However, several players chose not to participate on match day after realizing that their pension contributions had not been met.
