Tamika Upton, who had an outstanding season, has earned herself a spot in the Harvey Norman Jillaroos squad for the upcoming 2023 Pacific Championships.

Upton's selection comes after her impressive performance in helping Newcastle secure consecutive NRLW premierships, where she was awarded the Karyn Murphy Medal.

She joins two other new faces in the squad, Emma Manzelmann and Jess Elliston, who were both part of the successful World Cup campaign last year.

The inclusion of Yasmin Clydsdale and Caitlan Johnston in the squad is a result of their Grand Final victory with the Knights.

Additionally, five players from the Titans, Shaylee Bent, Lauren Brown, Jaime Chapman, Shannon Mato, and Evania Pelite, have also been named in the extended squad, along with Elliston.

It is worth noting that this squad is quite diverse, with representation from nine out of the ten NRLW clubs.

This expansion in the competition has allowed for a wider pool of talent to be considered for national selection.

Tamika Upton's inclusion in the squad is a testament to her exceptional skills and performance throughout the season, and she now has a chance to make her international debut in the upcoming Pacific Championships.
