Morgan Knowles, a St Helens legend and England loose forward, has announced his departure from the Betfred Super League side to join NRL club The Dolphins at the end of the season.

After spending 11 years in the Saints first team, Knowles will be bidding farewell to the club upon the expiration of his contract.

Hailing from St Helens' scholarship programme and emerging as a promising talent at the age of 14, Knowles will be reuniting with former coach Kristian Woolf at The Dolphins on a two-year deal.

Reflecting on his time at St Helens, the 28-year-old expressed his gratitude towards the club that has played a pivotal role in shaping his career and personal growth.

"St Helens is my club, I was welcomed with open arms as a kid, and I've gone from being a young lad to the man I am now, and that's because of all the people involved at the club," Knowles remarked.

"Everyone has influenced me as a player in my career and as a person, and I'll forever be grateful to the club for everything they've given me and my family."

Despite his deep connection to St Helens, Knowles emphasized that his decision to move on was not made lightly.

"When the opportunity came up, I did not wish to regret anything when the time comes to retire.

I didn't want any ifs, buts or maybes in my mind and it's an opportunity for my family to experience a different way of life too," he explained solemnly.

As Knowles prepares to embark on a new chapter in his rugby league journey, the loyal fans of St Helens will undoubtedly bid him a fond farewell and wish him success with The Dolphins in the NRL.
