Brisbane has beaten out rival bids to keep Magic Round for the next three years, much to the disappointment of NRL fans in NSW.

The decision to lock in the annual event in Queensland was met with approval from Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V'landys, who likened the state without rugby league to a beach without sand and sun.

The concept of Magic Round, now in its fifth year, continues to grow in popularity, with ticket sales for all three days breaking records.

A crowd of over 25,000 fans witnessed NSW take out game one of the women's State of Origin series, adding to the electric atmosphere.

Despite suggestions for other locations such as New Zealand or major Australian cities to host Magic Round, the event will remain in Brisbane until at least 2027.

V'landys highlighted the unique vibe of Caxton St, emphasizing that no other street in Australia rivals the excitement and energy of the fan-filled street.

With thousands of fans set to descend on Brisbane and millions more tuning in from home, the economic impact for Queensland is expected to be significant.

The buzz surrounding Magic Round shows no signs of slowing down, solidifying its place as a must-see event for NRL enthusiasts.
