In a jaw-dropping display of rugby league drama, fans and players alike were left scratching their heads after a double sin binning left the NRL world in disbelief.

The New Zealand Warriors, looking to regain their form, delivered a stunning 42-12 defeat to the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville.

With 20 minutes remaining in the match, a peculiar sight unfolded as a player from each team was sent to the sin bin, sparking confusion and outrage among spectators and commentators.

The Warriors were leading comfortably at 28-6 when a penalty was awarded just 10 meters out after Cowboys halfback Chad Townsend made an illegal tackle on Kurt Capewell.

Prior to the penalty, a Warriors bomb was expertly defused by Kyle Feldt, only to be swiftly bundled into touch by the Warriors defense.

Townsend, perhaps feeling the pressure, engaged in a bit of push and shove, leading to the controversial decision by the referee.

The NRL community was left stunned by the unprecedented turn of events, with many expressing their disbelief at the bizarre sin binning that unfolded on the field.

The Warriors' victory, coupled with the perplexing double sin binning, will surely go down in rugby league history as one of the most unusual moments of the season.
