After 33 years in the game, NRL and TV legend Paul 'Fatty' Vautin has decided to hang up his boots and won't be gracing the screens for the 2025 season.

Known for his time captaining the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles to a premiership under the coaching of the great Bob Fulton, Vautin has built a legacy in Australian rugby league.

With 204 games for Manly and 22 State of Origin appearances for Queensland, Vautin has solidified his place as a true rugby league great.

His coaching prowess was also on display when he led Queensland to a historic State of Origin series victory in 1995, ending the NSW dynasty at the time.

While his on-field achievements are well known, Vautin also made a mark on Aussie television.

Since 1992, he has been a familiar face on Channel Nine, co-hosting the iconic Footy Show alongside Peter Sterling.

For 23 years, the duo entertained audiences and won numerous awards, solidifying their place as TV favourites.

As Vautin bids farewell to the small screen, fans and colleagues alike rally around him, acknowledging his contributions to both rugby league and Australian television.

His presence will surely be missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of fans and in the annals of Australian sporting history.
