Toby Rudolf has described his decisive try in Cronulla's elimination final as one of the greatest moments of his NRL career.
The tightly contested week-one finals matchup seemed to favor the Sharks when hooker Blayke Brailey assisted Rudolf in scoring his first try of the season with just four minutes remaining.
"I was telling Blayke Brailey all year, 'Just one (try) mate, all I need is one,'" Rudolf stated.
"He kept giving me decoys and tonight he finally listened.
"Once he hit me with that ball, I wasn't being stopped, I was just stoked to get it over the line."
This try, scored from close range, reminiscent of the Sharks' powerhouse Andrew Fifita, who Rudolf embraced in a joyful post-match celebration.
Since debuting in the NRL, Rudolf has scored at a rate of one try per season and declared this latest effort to be on par with his first try as the pinnacle of his 117-game journey.
