Cronulla Sharks cult hero Toby Rudolf has disclosed that he is personally handling his contract negotiations during a crucial year for both him and the club.
As Rudolf approaches the 2026 season, he finds himself off contract, coinciding with 15 other Sharks players also set to become free agents by year's end. This situation has intensified the perception that the club's opportunity for a championship is rapidly diminishing.
Rudolf, a highly regarded figure in the NRL, plays multiple roles within the Sharks organization.
Recognized as the team's primary morale booster and a lively presence, this front-rower is also a vital component of the Sharks' forward pack, striving to overcome their recent disappointments after consecutive preliminary final exits.
In a conversation with Fox Sports, Rudolf shared that he has recently adopted a new role as his own player manager, directing his own negotiations.
"I had a manager in Luke Lewis and I was paying him a percentage, but then he decided to go into coaching, so he just sort of went away from it," Rudolf stated.
"At this age I'm somewhat established now; I feel like I know what I'm worth."
