In a controversial Round 8 of the NRL, a total of 20 charges were issued, resulting in seven players facing suspensions totaling 16 weeks and fines amounting to $14,350.

According to zerotackle.com, Scott Sorensen of the Penrith Panthers was found guilty during the judiciary panel meeting on Tuesday evening.

This outcome highlights that seven players are facing bans ranging from one to seven weeks.

The fines could have been significantly higher if not for many players being cited for first or second offences, with none exceeding $3000.

Sitili Tupouniua is the most affected, facing a three-match and a two-match ban for two separate infractions.

The charges from Round 8 encompass a range of incidents and penalties, reflecting the heightened scrutiny and enforcement of rules within the league.
