Sydney Roosters young player Sam Walker is facing another injury setback, having reportedly broken his thumb.
According to zerotackle.com, the halfback hasn't played in the top grade since Round 26 last year, where he sustained an ACL injury alongside current South Sydney hooker Brandon Smith.
This injury significantly impacted the Roosters' push in the finals.
Walker recently made his return in the NSW Cup, playing strongly for a half, which led coach Trent Robinson to recall him to the top-grade team.
However, News Corp has now reported that Walker is scheduled for surgery on Friday and will be sidelined for an additional four weeks as he recuperates from this latest injury.
