Rooster's wings clipped by two-game ban

A young Sydney Roosters forward, Salesi Foketi, is facing a two-game suspension after being sin-binned for a high tackle in a recent game against the Penrith Panthers.

Foketi has been charged with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle offense, which could result in a one-game ban with an early guilty plea or a two-game ban if he contests the decision and is found guilty.

Foketi's suspension comes at a time when the Roosters are already dealing with other player absences, but with the return of Spencer Leniu and Victor Radley for the next game, Foketi is likely to opt for the early guilty plea.

In addition to Foketi, Manly Sea Eagles hooker Jazz Tevaga was also charged by the Match Review Committee but is only facing a $1800 fine for a Contrary Conduct Charge.

This fine could potentially increase to $2500 if Tevaga decides to challenge the decision and is unsuccessful.

The news of Foketi's suspension comes as a blow to the Roosters, who will have to make adjustments in their lineup to compensate for his absence in the upcoming games.

The team's coach, Trent Robinson, will have to strategize and make necessary changes to ensure that the team performs well despite Foketi's suspension.

The report highlights the consequences of foul play in rugby league and the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations of the game.

Players are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner on the field to avoid penalties and suspensions that could impact both their individual careers and their team's performance.

The decisions made by Foketi and Tevaga in response to their charges will determine the extent of the consequences they face, emphasizing the need for players to take responsibility for their actions and the potential repercussions that may follow.
