The Sydney Roosters are poised to make a significant move in the free agency market by securing second-rower Siua Wong until the conclusion of the 2028 season.

Since November 1, Wong has had the freedom to negotiate with other teams, leading to speculations about potential interest from the newly established Perth Bears. Other clubs have also been keen on the young second-rower, recognized as one of the brightest talents in the league. His solid performance in the 2025 season, which included time spent in the middle of the field, solidified his reputation.

Although it took some time for Wong to find his footing at the NRL level, he has now firmly established himself, making it clear why the Roosters are eager to secure him for the long term.

News Corp has reported that Wong has consented to extend his stay at Bondi Junction, signing a two-year contract extension. As a current starter for the Roosters, Wong's involvement in the team is expected to grow, especially amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Angus Crichton.

Crichton is reportedly contemplating a transition to rugby union, where he may aim for a position on the Wallabies for their 2027 campaign.
