Sandon Smith, the Roosters halfback, is reportedly being "shopped to rival clubs" by his agent, signaling that Daly Cherry-Evans' move to the Sydney Roosters is gaining momentum.

Cherry-Evans is set to leave Manly at the end of the season, with rumors suggesting a transfer to Bondi.

According to au.news.yahoo.com, the Roosters have already released players Terrell May, Dom Young, and Brandon Smith, and veteran hooker Zach Dockar-Clay has been informed he can seek a deal elsewhere.

Leading reporter James Hooper noted, "The Chooks are cleaning house for when the Cherry-Evans deal is eventually rubber-stamped and announced."

Despite the potential shake-up, Smith has made a significant impact this season, notably during a standout game against the Dragons on Anzac Day, where he scored two tries and provided a try assist, helping the Roosters achieve a 46-18 victory.

Many analysts had expected the Roosters to struggle early in the season, but Smith's performance, along with contributions from other players, has led them to a 4-5 record, placing them 11th as they head into Round 10.

However, Cherry-Evans' prospective arrival could limit Smith's chances in first-grade football.

Additionally, halfback Sam Walker is expected to return from an ACL injury in just over a month, likely partnering with Smith in the halves for the remainder of the season.
