On Saturday, 2nd August 2025, the Roosters reported a critical victory for their NSW Cup team at Brookvale, keeping their finals hopes alive. Shortly after, Rodwell executed a remarkable 40/20 kick, setting up another scoring opportunity. Rodwell showcased his footwork to score an individual try, extending the lead to 18-6 after his successful conversion. A penalty goal from Rodwell sealed the Roosters' victory, despite a late converted try from Manly, concluding the game at 20-12.

The match featured standout performances, especially from Toby Rodwell, who earned the player of the match title for the third consecutive time. His confidence in the higher grade is evident, signaling a bright future for him. Additionally, Cook Island international prop Makahesi Makatoa had a notable impact with 180 meters gained in about 50 minutes, while captain Max McCathie was tireless in defense with 42 tackles, including key try-saving efforts.
