In a thrilling Rugby League clash, the Sydney Roosters emerged victorious with a narrow 13-12 win over the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
The game was decided by a crucial field-goal from Sam Walker in the 73rd minute.
Despite facing multiple setbacks, including injuries to Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii and Joseph Manu, as well as the sin-binning of James Tedesco, the Roosters displayed their resilience and determination to keep their season alive.
The defining factor was their awe-inspiring defence, which prevented the Sharks from scoring on several occasions.
Lindsay Collins and Siua Wong stood out with their gritty defensive efforts, particularly when they stopped Cameron McInnes from grounding the ball, despite the Bunker being unable to confirm it.
The Roosters also showcased their attacking prowess, with Wong breaking through the Sharks' defence and linking up with Manu, only to be denied by the hosts.
However, a handling error by the Roosters gave the Sharks an opportunity to apply pressure and challenge the Bondi Wall.
Manu's attempt to intercept the ball further bolstered Cronulla's possession and allowed them to set up camp near the Roosters' try-line.
