On Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Sydney Roosters NSW Cup team faced a tough match against the New Zealand Warriors, ultimately losing 24-14 in Round 11 at Wentworth Park.

With the Roosters NRL team likely to call up five forwards and one outside back for their upcoming Round 12 match, players were eager to impress the coaching staff.

The game began competitively, as the scores were tied 6-6 at halftime following a try from Dominic Young in the 22nd minute, marking his third try in as many games this season.

However, the second half saw a shift in momentum, with the Roosters conceding two early tries within the first six minutes, falling behind 18-6.

The Warriors took advantage and put the Roosters on the defensive for much of the half.

Captain Jake Elliott managed to score in the 63rd minute, bringing the score to 24-10 after the Warriors responded quickly to maintain control.

Despite a spirited effort, the Roosters ultimately couldn't secure the win against the competition leaders.
