Sydney Roosters player Joseph Suaalii is set to make a highly-anticipated switch from Rugby League to Rugby Union, with many touting him to potentially become the best code convert in Australia's history.

Suaalii, who is set to depart the Roosters at the end of the 2024 NRL season, has signed a lucrative deal with the Wallabies.

He will join the ranks of other successful code hoppers such as Israel Folau, Greg Inglis, Sonny Bill Williams, and Suliasi Vunivalu.

Suaalii's journey from South Sydney's program to the Roosters three years ago was well-documented, as Rugby Australia also expressed interest in the talented 20-year-old.

With less than a year until he officially makes the switch, Suaalii is already receiving backing to surpass the likes of Folau and Lote Tuqiri as a cross-code sensation.

Lote Tuqiri himself described Suaalii as "a force to be reckoned with" in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.

The young fullback's promising junior career and demand at the age of 17 made him a highly sought-after talent.

Now, with his move to Rugby Union on the horizon, all eyes will be on Suaalii as he aims to make a name for himself on the rugby stage.

The Roosters will undoubtedly miss his contributions, but his departure signifies the start of a new chapter in his career.

As he prepares to don the Wallabies jersey, Suaalii has the potential to leave a lasting legacy in both codes of rugby.
