In a thrilling climax to the UNE SG Ball Cup Grand Final, the Sydney Roosters dramatically overturned an eight-point deficit in the last 90 seconds to defeat the Parramatta Eels 33-26.

Both teams' fans were on the edge of their seats as the match reached its conclusion.

The Eels appeared on track for a 15th premiership, leading 26-18 after winger Dom Farrugia scored in the south-west corner of Leichhardt Oval.

Throughout the match, Parramatta had maintained control, finishing the regular season undefeated with eight wins and a draw, though the Roosters had previously handed them their first loss of 2025 with a 32-12 victory in the first week of the finals.

The Roosters' hero emerged in lock Josiah Fesolai, whose try in the 68th minute brought the score to 26-22 and set the stage for a frantic finish.

As the clock counted down, the Roosters opted not to kick for goal, intensifying the pressure.

The turning point came when Eels halfback and goalkicker Lincoln Fletcher was sin-binned for foul play.

This gave the Roosters a crucial numerical advantage as they chased an incredible comeback victory, ultimately sealing the match with a final score of 33-26.
