Roosters Reunite with Dragons' Comeback Star

The Sydney Roosters are poised to make a significant addition to their fullback roster with the anticipated signing of Cody Ramsey from St George Illawarra.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Ramsey is close to finalizing a two-year deal with the Roosters, marking a pivotal moment in his career.

Ramsey's journey has been both challenging and inspiring. Following a lengthy 896-day hiatus caused by ulcerative colitis, the 25-year-old underwent major surgery in 2023 to remove his entire large bowel. His perseverance paid off when he made a triumphant return to play for the Dragons' NSW Cup team last season, contributing to their Grand Final appearance.

Despite the Dragons' attempts to retain him, which included offering a development contract for 2026 and a potential full-time position in 2027, Ramsey has chosen to join the Roosters.

His last outing in the NRL was in Round 25 of 2022.

The Roosters see Ramsey as an essential depth option who can effectively connect captain James Tedesco with up-and-coming talent Rex Bassingthwaighte, who is likely to enter the club's top-30 roster in 2027.
