Sydney Roosters second-rower Aliyah Nasio has been summoned to appear before the NRLW judiciary after allegedly throwing a punch during a brawl that erupted after the grand final.
Nasio faces a grade-three striking charge for reportedly landing a punch on Brisbane centre Julia Robinson immediately after the full-time siren, which marked the Broncos' 22-18 victory over the Roosters on Sunday.
The brawl involved players from both teams before they were eventually separated, allowing the Broncos to celebrate their first title since 2020.
ARL Commission chair Peter V'landys expressed he had "no concerns whatsoever" regarding the fight, stating, "I love passion," on Monday.
However, the match review committee took a different stance, with Nasio now facing a suspension that could prevent her from participating at the start of the next season.
All other players involved in the brawl were cleared by the committee, despite replays suggesting a flurry of arms and possible punches.
Broncos coach Scott Prince voiced criticism of the incident, noting it followed a high tackle by Nasio on Broncos captain Ali Brigginshaw during the preceding set.
