The NSW Blues are facing a bit of a pickle with Nathan Cleary out of action, but fear not, as a surprise contender has stepped up to the plate as a possible replacement for Origin.

According to news.com.au, the Roosters are looking like a force to be reckoned with, both on paper and on the field.

Their star-studded backline put on a show at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, sending a clear message to the rest of the NRL: when we're firing on all cylinders, we're unstoppable.

Following their domination of the New Zealand Warriors, the Roosters have now racked up an impressive 138 points in their last three games.

They were just a hair's width away from scoring 40 points for the third consecutive game, a feat that hasn't been seen since the days of legendary player Dave Brown back in 1935.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, with heavy rain overnight and two previous games played on the same field, the Roosters managed to come out on top.

James Tedesco showcased his speed and skill by scoring a try, Dom Young impressed with a brace of tries and some lightning-quick runs, and Joey Manu dazzled with his fancy footwork and expert ball-handling.

On the defensive end, Angus Crichton made his presence known by causing chaos for the injured Shaun Johnson and even managing to score a couple of tries himself.

This Roosters team is certainly one to watch out for in the upcoming games.
