Roosters' grand final pursuit fueled by 'retro' training

The old-school training regime driving Roosters grand final pursuit

The Sydney Roosters are pulling out all the stops in their quest for the NRL grand final, with a grueling old-school training regime taking center stage.

Coach Trent Robinson has ditched the norm of easing off on training during finals to keep his players sharp and hungry for victory.

Prop Spencer Leniu has described this week's training as one of the toughest he's experienced, setting the tone for a physical showdown on the field.

The Roosters will be facing off against a Melbourne Storm side they have struggled against in recent history, with only one win in their last 11 matches.

Last year's semi-final saw Melbourne claim a nail-biting 18-13 victory over the Roosters, with Will Warbrick delivering the knockout blow in the final minutes.

But with their eyes firmly set on grand final glory, the Roosters are determined to turn the tables and prove they have what it takes to come out on top.
