On June 14-15, 2025, the Sydney Roosters achieved a clean sweep for their senior representative and affiliate teams.
In the NSW Cup, the Roosters secured a convincing 28-6 win against Newcastle, bringing their season record to seven wins and seven losses.
Despite missing several regular players due to NRL calls for assistance during the Origin series, the Roosters adapted by moving captain Jake Elliott, typically a five-eighth, to hooker for the first 18 minutes and then to lock forward for the remaining duration of the match.
The Roosters faced challenging conditions, playing against the wind in the first half.
They managed to score two tries, one from left winger Tom Rodwell-who has now tallied 15 tries in 14 games-and another from left centre Owen Flaherty, thanks to a well-executed cross-field kick by halfback Chad Townsend.
This allowed the Roosters to lead 10-6 at halftime.
