In a highly anticipated match at PointsBet Stadium, the Sydney Roosters proved too strong for the NRLW Sharks, despite their brave effort.

The game started with a fast start from the Roosters, but the Sharks were able to turn the ball over and winger Kiani Takairangi scored in the corner after some slick ball movement.

Halfback Tayla Preston successfully converted the try, giving the Sharks a 6-0 lead after just 5 minutes.

However, the Roosters quickly responded when front rower Holli Wheeler barged over the try line next to the posts, and a simple conversion made the score 12-0 in the 16th minute.

The Roosters continued their comeback as winger Jayme Fressard capitalized on a Sharks drop ball and ran 50m to score, with halfback Jocelyn Kelleher adding the extra points.

With the Roosters in control of momentum, Fressard soon had a double after center Jess Sergis set her up in the corner.

Despite Kelleher's missed conversion attempt, the Sharks held a narrow 12-10 lead as halftime approached.
