In a desperate move to overcome their injury crisis, the Sydney Roosters have made the decision to offer a contract to their assistant strength and conditioning coach, Millicent Scutt.
With the NRLW finals just around the corner, the Roosters have been left with no choice but to call upon Scutt to fill the role of a backup hooker.
Despite her background in rugby union, Scutt's signing is purely a depth signing as the club struggles to deal with a significant number of injuries.
The loss of replacement hooker Shawden Burton to an ACL injury only adds to the growing list of season-ending injuries at the club, which includes players like Amber Hall, Tavarna Papalii, and Aliyah Nasio.
The Roosters are also anxiously awaiting the return of Millie Boyle from a shoulder injury, while Jess Sergis' fractured finger has required surgery and puts her chances of playing in the grand final in doubt.
Furthermore, skipper Isabelle Kelly will be sidelined for the final round of the season after failing a head injury assessment.
