Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson has found himself in a bit of a pickle after a gas bottle explosion left him and his wife Sandra in need of medical attention.

The incident occurred during a dinner at the Hunter Valley property owned by former rugby league bigwig John Quayle, adding a touch of irony to the situation.

According to reports from Nine News, the 47-year-old coach and his better half were airlifted to the hospital following the explosion.

It seems that the couple was simply trying to enjoy a nice meal when things took a turn for the unexpected.

"Trent Robinson and his wife Sandra were at the property of John Quayle in the Hunter Valley," revealed Nine's Danny Weidler.

"They were in the midst of cooking dinner on Monday night when a BBQ gas bottle decided to make itself known in a rather explosive manner."

In the world of Rugby League, where things can often be unpredictable and full of surprises, this gas explosion serves as a stark reminder that danger can lurk in the most unexpected places.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Coach Robinson and his wife as they deal with this unexpected setback.
