The Sydney Roosters have taken a solid step towards securing their second successive NRLW minor premiership with a convincing 34-20 victory over the Brisbane Broncos.
This game, a thrilling rematch of last year's grand final which saw the Broncos emerge victorious, showcased the Roosters' impressive offensive performance at Lang Park on Saturday.
However, the contest was marred by a contentious decision from the bunker, which allowed Roosters winger Brydie Parker's try to stand, despite teammate Jess Sergis appearing to push Broncos centre Deleni Paitai during the pivotal play in the 35th minute.
Following that incident, the Roosters added three more unanswered tries, although prop Brianna Clark was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle.
Despite a brief resurgence from the Broncos, with Georgia Bartlett narrowing the margin in the 56th minute, Parker secured her hat-trick while Sergis also scored again, maintaining the Roosters' unbeaten run with a record of 7-0.
After suffering a significant loss to Canberra in their previous match, Brisbane initially started strongly, scoring two of the first three tries thanks to the swift efforts of Tamika Upton and Chelsea Lenarduzzi from the bench.
However, just before half-time, the Broncos were denied a potential penalty try when Kerri Johnson was tackled in mid-air just inches from scoring.
The Roosters ultimately powered ahead, maintaining a one-win lead atop the ladder with four matches remaining.
Meanwhile, at Western Sydney Stadium, a couple of crucial sin-binnings allowed Parramatta to claim their first win of the season, overcoming a determined Canterbury side to secure a 30-18 victory.
