The Paul Broughton Medal is just around the corner, and a number of contenders have emerged as strong candidates to become the Rookie of the Year for 2023.

According to titans.com.au, players in contention for this prestigious award have made quite an impact throughout the season, showcasing their talent and potential in every game they donned the Gold Coast colors.

Last year, Jojo Fifita received the award for his outstanding performance in his debut season, which earned him a well-deserved call-up to the 2022 Prime Minister's XIII.

This year, five young stars have emerged as potential winners, and their statistics speak for themselves.

One standout player is Keano Kini, who had already created a buzz even before his debut in the Magic Round.

Despite being fresh out of High School, the 19-year-old made a significant impression in the pre-season challenge and the Hostplus Cup, averaging an impressive 194 meters and 6 tackle breaks while playing for the Titans feeder club, the Burleigh Bears.

Due to injuries to key players, Keano was given a big break and started as a fullback against the Bulldogs in Round 27, where he displayed his prowess by accumulating a game-high 227 running meters, 6 tackle breaks, and 1 line break.
