Blake Steep, a promising rookie for the Sydney Roosters, is making significant strides in the NRL following the club's triumph in the 2025 SG Ball Cup.

With key players like Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Sitili Tupouniua, and Terrell May having left the team, the Roosters are turning to their younger forwards, including Steep, Salesi Foketi, Taylor Losalu, and Naufahu Whyte.

Having been promoted to the club's Top 30 roster after just three games last season, Steep has quickly established himself as a regular player off the bench.

His contributions have not gone unnoticed, leading to calls from teammate Brandon Smith, who suggested that the team should invest in upgrading Steep's contract and salary.

Steep expressed his enthusiasm about his progress, stating, "Yeah, definitely (still pinch myself when I'm out there).

It's becoming more familiar now for me and I'm getting more confidence in every game I play."

Overall, Steep's rise exemplifies the Roosters' reliance on emerging talent as they navigate changes in their roster.
