The Sydney Roosters have addressed emerging rumors regarding the potential departure of head coach Trent Robinson from the Bondi-based club.
This season has not started well for Robinson, as the Roosters currently sit 14th on the ladder with a 1-2 record, following a disheartening 40-4 defeat to the Penrith Panthers, even after fielding a strong lineup.
During an episode of NRL360, former Roosters player Braith Anasta inquired of Brent Read if he had "heard any noise" about Robinson's future?
"It's funny, Braith. There's been a rumour going around that Robbo might pack up and go to France at the end of the year, and I've heard it from about three different people in the past fortnight," Read reported.
"I think because his wife is French and there's always been this talk that Robbo would go there at the end of his career."
In light of these speculations, Read reached out to Roosters chairman Nick Politis, who dismissed any suggestions of turmoil or Robinson's exit.
"I rung Nick today and he said it was absolute rubbish, Robbo is going nowhere," Read asserted.
Over the past year, the Roosters have faced criticism for not meeting expectations.
With three premierships under his belt, many still believe Robinson remains the best option to guide the team, especially as they possess a roster filled with representative-level talent, often seen as contenders for a top-four finish.
