Trent Robinson, the mastermind behind the Roosters, has once again proven why he's one of the sharpest tools in the shed by weighing in on the NRL's potential decision to do away with kick-offs.

With concerns swirling about player safety and the NFL recently altering their rules to decrease high-impact collisions during kick-offs, Robinson has cautioned against making hasty changes that could alter the essence of the game.

He believes that these "statement plays" are crucial in setting the tone for matches and shouldn't be tossed aside lightly.

While the NRL has introduced new incentives for teams to opt for short restarts, the brutal collisions that result from long kick-offs have sparked discussions about implementing further modifications.

However, Robinson remains wary of stripping the sport of its trademark intensity and the message that a powerful kick-off can convey.

As Robinson aptly puts it, "Kick-offs have always been a defining moment in the history, so I'm hesitant to lose the raw energy and impact that they bring to the game." It seems that the iconic coach is adamant about preserving the essence of Rugby League and the significant role that kick-offs play in its rich tapestry.
