Wests Tigers trio Botille Vette-Welsh, Christian Pio, and Jakiya Whitfeld have been chosen to represent the Australian PM's XIII in a match against Papua New Guinea.
The news was reported by weststigers.com.au, who titled their article "Wests Tigers trio make PM's XIII." In the NRLW, Pio, a prop for the Wests Tigers, has played in all eight games of the 2023 season and is leading the competition in "offloads," with teammate Najvada George close behind.
Whitfeld, a winger in her first season with the Wests Tigers, has broken more tackles than all but one other player in the NRLW after eight rounds.
Vette-Welsh, who is celebrating her 27th birthday today, has made a successful comeback to the top-flight after being sidelined for 16 months due to injury.
She expressed her joy at being able to return to the game she loves after undergoing a knee reconstruction.
