Tigers legend Benny Elias has unleashed a scathing attack on his former club, expressing his frustration after the re-election of chairman Lee Hagipantelis.

The news, which was first reported by The Daily Telegraph, comes after a disappointing season for the Tigers, who finished with yet another wooden spoon.

Elias, known for his straight-talking nature, couldn't contain his anger at the decision, particularly since an external review of the club is still ongoing.

"This review has just started, because I've been involved in this review, they've asked myself and 50 other people," Elias stated on NRL 360.

He went on to question the logic of rewarding someone who oversaw two wooden spoons with another three-year contract.
