Today, September 18, marks a significant milestone for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, as it has been 47 years since they clinched their third NSWRL first grade premiership in 1976.

According to the official website of the Sea Eagles, seaeagles.com.au, they have released an article titled "Grand Final Flashback: 1976 Sea Eagles" to commemorate this achievement.

On that fateful day, the Sea Eagles emerged victorious with a narrow 13-10 win over the Parramatta Eels at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground.

Interestingly, this was Parramatta's inaugural grand final appearance since their entry into the first grade premiership in 1947, alongside Manly.

Despite Parramatta scoring two tries compared to Manly's solitary try, the Sea Eagles' experience and class proved to be the decisive factor in securing their third premiership triumph in just five years.

Notably, the Sea Eagles' captain, Bob Fulton, celebrated his third premiership title alongside fellow players Graham Eadie, Ian Martin, and Terry Randall.

Furthermore, this victory also held great significance for former Manly player and Kangaroo, Frank Stanton, as it marked his first premiership win with the Sea Eagles.

Lastly, it is worth mentioning that this grand final win served as a fitting farewell for Fulton, who played his final game for Manly on that memorable day.
