Leeds Rhinos secured an intense 22-18 victory over Wakefield in the Betfred Super League, reclaiming third place after a thrilling match at Headingley.

The game served as a tribute to Rob Burrow, who passed away a year ago, during Leeds' annual MND awareness event.

Leeds initially controlled the game, with Jake Connor scoring 14 points in the first half, including a try shortly after Harry Newman's opening score.

However, the situation shifted when Lachlan Miller suffered an injury, disrupting Leeds' rhythm.

Despite leading 16-0 at half-time, Leeds faced a fierce comeback from Wakefield, highlighted by two second-half tries from Max Jowitt, who aimed to close the gap on the Rhinos.

As the match neared its end, the pressure mounted on Leeds' defense, raising concerns about their ability to hold onto the lead.

The final whistle brought relief to Leeds, marking their fourth consecutive victory and reinforcing their position in the table.

The first half showed little indication of the struggles to come for the Rhinos, who opened strongly but had to rally in the face of Wakefield's determined resurgence.
