In round five of the Super League, the Leeds Rhinos secured a tense 12-10 victory over the Wigan Warriors at the AMT Headingley Stadium.

Leeds had the lead at half-time with an unconverted try from Riley Lumb and a penalty kick from Jake Connor.

Wigan narrowed the scoreline with a try from Liam Marshall just before the break.

Wigan took the lead in the second half, but a crucial moment came when Ryan Hall assisted Jack Sinfield with a header pass, leading to a try that put Leeds ahead 12-10 after Connor's conversion.

The rules of rugby league state that a headed pass can only be considered a knock-on if it is intentional, and Hall's unexpected move was reviewed by video several times before the try was awarded.

Leeds head coach Brad Arthur commented on the unusual play, saying, "It's very rare that the ball comes off a player's head, but at the end of the day, they're the rules, and it's a try.

It doesn't look pretty, but we'll take it."

Despite Wigan's efforts to score in the final moments of the match, the Rhinos held on to secure the victory, much to the delight of the fans at the South Stand.

Additionally, in another match, the Catalans Dragons dominated with a 26-4 win over the Castleford Tigers.

These results highlight the competitive nature of the Super League as teams battle for supremacy on the field.
